On Saturday, July 29, 2023, at about 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report at the NRH, Orange Walk District. Upon arrival, they observed the motionless body of a male person who was identified as Jael Darrel Jimenez, a 19-year-old Belizean laborer of Guinea Grass Village, with an apparent gunshot wound on his body.
Initial investigation reveals that Jael Jimenez was socializing with his wife and other family members when an argument ensued between him and one of the family members. Subsequently, someone called Derrick Bull, the father of Jimenez’s wife, who allegedly arrived at the residence armed with a firearm, entered the house, and fired a single shot at Jael, which resulted in his injuries. Jimenez was transported to the NRH, where he was pronounced dead.

Ref shooting death of Jael Darrel Jimenez, a 19-year-old, Belizean Driver of Guinea Grass Village, which occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2023, on Thursday, August 3, 2023, police formally arrested and charged Derrick Albert Bull, a 40-year-old, Belizean Logger of Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk District for the crime of Murder, and (2) counts of Aggravated Assault committed upon Andy Jimenez and Irene Jimenez respectively.
