On Friday October 21st. several members of the U.D.P’s Central Executive including the vice-chairman ‘Alberto August’ presented the required signatures at the UDP Secretariat
main office to remove party leader Shyne Barrow.

The signatures of 201 UDP Executive members were presented, which was more than the 1/3 required in accordance with the constitution of the UDP, which stipulates that the party leader can be removed if enough members sign the petition, Where-after, a recall election will be held, and 2/3 (two-thirds of the voting delegates ) or (341+1) if all the delegates vote, in favor of the removal the party leader would be removed.
If the recall-election is successful it will be the second time that ‘Shyne’ is removed as leader of the UDP and consequently he would also be replaced as Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives.
After presenting the signatures of the petition to the U.D.P Party Secretarial, deputy party chairman spoke to the media outside the U.D.P Headquarters and stated that the U.D.P has been through enough wrangling and the only focus is to rebuild the party. He also addressed the position of ‘Collet-Area-Rep’ Patrick Faber and ‘Albert-Area-Rep’ Tracy Panton indicating that they are part of the collaborative group of U.D.P representatives that are spearheading the effort to remove the current party leader ‘Shyne’ Barrow.
