The child custody case between Canadian national, Jasmine Hartin, -vs- Andrew Ashcroft, was heard in the Belize Family Court today.

We were outside the Court following the case, which has garnered international media attention.

And while we were not allowed inside the court proceedings, Hartin emerged at 3:45pm this evening in good spirits. Her estrange common-law husband, Andrew Ashcroft appeared very intense and hurry-up to depart from the court area.

The attorneys for Andrew Ashcroft and Jasmine Hartin did not comment on todays hearing either.

We can confirm that two witnesses took the stand and were crossed examined, and the case kicked off at around 9am this morning and took a break at 12noon. then resumed at 2:00pm this afternoon and finished at about 3:45 p.m. this evening. The case continues tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., at the Belize Family Court.

The matter is being heard before Director of the Belize Family Court, Mr. Dale Cayetano.

Hartin is being represented by Attorney, Darlene Margaret Vernon.

Of note is that Hartin is out on bail for manslaughter by negligence in the shooting death of Police Superintendent, Henry Jemmott, and she has also been charged with damage to property and common assault in another matter for which she is also out on bail for as well.

Both criminal cases are pending. PI for the manslaughter by negligence is soon to be held in the San Pedro Magistrate’s Court where she is represented by attorney Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley.

Hartin and Ashcroft are the parents of 5 year old fraternal twins.
