GOB Postpones Reopening Of Land Borders & Sea Borders: OMICRON & 4/5 Wave Rages In U.S.A & Europe

The Government of Belize (GOB) has postponed the opening of the ‘Land Borders’ and ‘Sea Borders’ until February 2022 and or until the health system is better prepared for the emergence of the Omicron variant.

G.O.B said “Based on the formal recommendations of the COVID-19 Advisory Committee, the Government of Belize hereby announces that the opening of the land borders and sea ports has been postponed to February 2022”.

GOB had planned to open the Land Borders on January 1st. 2022.

Elsewhere in the world the sad news at this Christmas time is that there seems to be no relief from the COVID-19 pandemic, which is entering a 4th. or 5th. Wave, depending on which country is reporting.

Since the Pandemic started the World Health Organization said there has been 5.38million deaths due to COVID-19 and approximately 277million cases as of December 2021.
