A Couple has been committed to stand trial for two counts of cruelty to a child under the age of 18!

A Couple from Hattieville must stand trial at the Supreme Court for cruelty to a child. Tonight Hattieville resident, 54-year-old, Ponciano Coc, and 30 year-old, Mirna Josephina Canelo learnt their faith in court after a PI for the offense of cruelty to a child.
The ‘Preliminary Inquiry’ (PI) was held before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser in Court #1 where they were accused of two counts of cruelty to a child.
Allegations are that on January 11, 2020, they both were cruelty to two of their children, under the age of 18.This morning at the end of the PI, Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser committed them both to stand trial at the Supreme Court for two counts of cruelty to a child.
They will appear before judge in the January Session of the Supreme Court for trial. At their PI, the couple was represented by an attorney. Chief Magistrate, Fraser offered the couple bail again in the sum of $4,000 each plus one surety of the same which they were able to meet.
