A resident of the Western Paradise area on the George Price Highway learnt his faith this evening at the end of his Preliminary Inquiry for murder and must stand trial for the murder of Andrew Flowers who was fatally stabbed on September 10, 2020 in Belize City.

He is 30-year-old, Whitefield Fisher Jr., who just celebrated his birthday five days ago behind bars.
Late this afternoon Fisher appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts- Anderson, and indicated that he would represent himself at his preliminary hearing.
Fisher challenged the statements of 3 relatives who gave statements placing him at the murder scene; Fisher said that they all had inconsistency in their statements as to what happened.
But the Prosecutor, Corporal Carlos Poot submitted that there is no inconsistency in the witnesses statements and that enough evidence is in the deposition to commit Fisher Jr., to stand trial for murder.
Prosecutor Poot submitted 21 statements, 3 coming from relatives of the accused along with 8 documentary exhibit including a caution statement from the accused in which he allegedly confessed to stabbing Flowers.
Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts -Anderson agreed that a prima-facie case has been established against Fisher and committed his case to go to trial at the January session of the Supreme Court .
When given his alibi warning, Fisher told the court he does not have a list of Anyone he intends to call as an alibi; today Senior Magistrate Anderson told him he has seven days Grace period to do so in writing.
