On Saturday (April 24th.) many international news agencies began reporting that India was rapidly descending into a COVID-19 Horror Show and is becoming the global epicenter of COVID-19, with 350,000 new COVID-19 cases reported in 24 hours and dead bodies piling up so fast that mass cremations were happening in open spaces right next to hospitals, and in open spaces in the center of major cities such as New Delhi.
Only 8% of the country’s population of 1.2 Billion have been vaccinated, and many are blaming the government for becoming complacent and claiming earlier in the year that the country had beat the COVID-19 virus.
Earlier this year over 10 million Indians attended the annual Kumbh-Mela at the Ganges River, without adhering to recommended precautions.
Some reports are estimating that the real number of deaths and cases are 10 times the amount that is being reported. The BBC reported that several variants of the virus originated in India, and was also detected in Canada.
