The Safest Strategy Against COVID-19 Is To Behave As If It Is Everywhere: Because It Is

There are people that wash their hands often; – There are people that sanitize their hands often and wear face coverings, and or a face shields. – And then there are those that go to what some would say is a bit extreme or even paranoid, – But!, those paranoid people right here in Belize may be on to something.

They spray their shopping bags with Lysol, they rub rubbing-alcohol on the money or change they get from store-clerks and shopkeepers, they boil bottled drinking water, they pure boiling water over the fruits and veggies they get at the market, and some of them believe that small (very low amounts) of the COVID-19 Virus may even be in the tap water they shower with.

The truth is that those people may be more right than wrong, because the COVID-19 Virus is literally everywhere, it all depends on a term referred to as the ‘Viral Load

In one instance we know of several persons in a Belize household that have no symptoms of COVID-19 but all complained of a strange feeling in their stomach, which they all believe was caused by the bottled water they drank. The family said that the feeling went away after 2-3 days, and they started to boil the drinking water and they don’t eat anything that is not cooked.

A friend also explained that he witnessed the following on more than 1 occasion: the temperature of a person that was about to enter a store was too high and the security asked the person to please go to the hospital, ‘the individual just walked away and surely did not go to get checked out. That was probably because of the stigma we attribute to those who may have it, although they did not cause COVID-19, they spread it because of not wanting to know.

The little microscopic COVID-19 devils are so small that they can only be seen with an Electron-Microscope, and from a biological standpoint the virus functions just like the cold or flu virus.

A Better Way To Test For COVID-19
The health directors in many countries have been in continous debate as to which COVID-19 test is best.

A Short List Of Countries Using Saliva Test As First Step Screening
1. United Kingdom
2. Island
3. Japan

“On August 15th. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) to Yale School of Public Health for its Saliva-Direct COVID-19 diagnostic test, which uses a new method of processing saliva samples when testing for COVID-19 infection.”

A recent CBS News report said: “The FDA has authorized the first rapid coronavirus test that doesn’t need any special computer equipment to get results. The 15-minute test from Abbott Laboratories will sell for $5, giving it a competitive edge over similar tests that need to be popped into a small machine. The self-contained test is the size of a credit card and is based on the same technology used to test for the flu, strep throat and other infections”.

Safety FirstRe-training Our Natural Behavior
It is so easy to disregard or lose your conscious awareness that a deadly virus is around, because we cannot see them, It is also a part of the problem; so we need to re-train our own natural behavior to act as if the virus is everywhere (because it is)

In a recent article in the New York Times, several medical doctors and scientist from several countries wrote to the W.H.O

” But in an open letter to the W.H.O., 239 scientists in 32 countries have outlined the evidence showing that smaller particles can infect people, and are calling for the agency to revise its recommendations. The researchers plan to publish their letter in a scientific journal next week”.

FACTS
If small particles of COVID-19 can hang in the air for several minutes then it can get on items you purchase at the markets and stores.

Washing hands regularly and wearing face masks are a good start, but you should start thinking of it as dust particles in your home and workplace.
